Rostec says intends to update 5G development roadmap
NIZNHY NOVGOROD, Jun 2 (PRIME) -- Russian state industrial corporation Rostec will address the government with an initiative to update the roadmap on development of 5G and reach the 4G and 5G network goals together with its partners this year, Anna Sharipova, managing director for national projects at Rostec, said late on Wednesday.
“We plan to approach the government with an initiative of elaboration and updating the roadmap so that we could simultaneously with the partners on the market, scientific cooperation to implement the tasks on 4G and 5G and look at the future technologies of the telecommunications connections – Open RAN, 6G, and so forth,” Sharipova said.
The roadmap is now strictly focused on 5G. “In the reality we have found ourselves, I think we will get support both from the operator market and the government that 4G/LTE is a very important goal to maintain on the current networks,” she said.
